Biography

I am a Senior Research Associate at the Postsecondary Education & Economics Research (PEER) Center at American University. I study the economics of higher education: how financial aid, college pricing, and accountability policy shape where students enroll and whether they finish. I previously served as a Senior Advisor in the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of the Chief Economist, with earlier research roles at the College Board and the Center for American Progress. I hold a PhD in Economics and Education from Teachers College, Columbia University, and my work has appeared in the American Economic Review and Economics of Education Review.
